Jun 8, 2015

Monday June 8th 2015

Quebec City, Monday, June 8th 2015. This year’s Envol et Macadam festival will be held from September 10th to 12th. For this 20th edition, the festival’s organisation is pleased to be presenting festival-goers with two of the biggest names in alternative music: Rise Against and Millencollin. The event is presented in collaboration with Tremblay beer and will once again be held at the Îlot Fleurie park underneath the Dufferin-Montmorency highway overpasses as well as in various venues throughout the Nouvo St-Roch neighbourhood.

These newly announced headliners join those that were unveiled several weeks ago and that are currently generating enthusiasm among fans: Despised IconMute and Yesterday’s Ring. This 20th edition is already shaping up to be memorable. Several other groups will also be a part of the line-up like Taktika, Arkona, Black Taboo, Heidevolk, Helsott, The Dread Crew Of Oddwood, Feels Like Home, Rogue River, Boundaries, Grand Morne, Suburban House Thieves, Men & Company, Go To WhiteCastle and many more!

Rise Against

Founded in Chicago in 1999, Rise Against has been one of the leading bands on the punk scene for the past decade. They rouse crowds with their hardcore influences, catchy songs and rallying choruses, but are also known for their politically conscious lyrics and social engagement. The last time they participated in the festival was to a sold-out crowd at the Agora de Québec. Their much-awaited performance at this year’s festival will surely be one of the highlights of this 20th edition.

Millencollin

This Swedish group has been bringing joy to punk rock fans for more than 20 years now. Their fast-paced and efficient songs are set apart by their strong melodic sense. After seven albums, dozens of tours and over 1500 concerts, Millencollin remain at the top of their game, and their latest album True Brew, which was released last April, is a testament to this. The quartet will be coming to Quebec City to play not only their newest material, but also the major hits that influenced an entire generation of punk rockers.

Since 1996, the Envol et Macadam festival has been renowned for it’s line-up that features the latest in musical trends, as well as its distinct urban setting where world-famous artists play alongside the best emerging bands from both the local and international scenes. This year once again, audiences will enjoy an eclectic array of concerts in a unique environment as the heart of Quebec City beats to the sound of alternative music during the three days of the event.
