This vibrant four piece have wowed audiences since their inception in late 2008, playing festivals and venues around the UK. They are one of the winners of the Q Magazine Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition and as a result performed at Glastonbury 2010 with great reviews. With varied backgrounds, their music is both moving and hard to define. The band collectively writes its music and use unusual instruments, commonly replacing a Bass with Fx'd electric violin and using old electronic toys. This unusual approach has led to comparisons with bands as varied as Pink Floyd, Radiohead, TV On The Radio and Mars Volta. They use experimental film footage giving audiences a unique experience. Secret Cinema have recorded at EMI Studios and worked with producer Daniel Knowles from the Post-Rock band, “Amusement Parks On Fire” to record tracks for their album "Through a Cathode Darkly".
