    A sneak-peak at the lineup for the next Envol et Macadam festival

    Quebec City, June 11th, 2013.The 18th edition of the Envol and Macadam festival will take place from September 5th to 7th, 2013. The event is presented in collaboration with Tremblay beer and will be held at the l’Îlot Fleurie park, which is located underneath the Dufferin-Montmorency highway, as well as at different venues in the Nouvo St-Roch neighbourhood. Audiences will enjoy an eclectic lineup, and a variety of concerts will be presented in a unique urban setting. During the three days of the festival, Quebec City’s downtown will move to the rhythm of alternative music.

    A spotlight on punk with NOFX, Randy, and The Flatliners

    Envol and Macadam’s organizers are proud to announce the presence of NOFX, Randy, and The Flatliners. These three groups will play on the festival’s main stage at the l’Îlot Fleurie park, a choice location that offers festivalgoers shelter from the elements and allows them to fully enjoy their experience.

    NOFXset the standard for California-style punk rock and they have been active musically for over 30 years. They have released numerous albums that have been highly appreciated by fans of the genre and they are renowned for their energetic live shows and humorous banter. These punk rock pioneers will be paying Quebec City an exclusive visit and giving the audience a lesson on how to put on a festive show.

    The Swedish group Randy won the hearts of punk rock fans in the ‘90s, but have continued to evolve throughout the years. They are very highly regarded not only in their home country, but also by music fans the world over. The four musicians will make a rare visit to Quebec City in order to play their rousing, fast-paced material.

    Last but not least, The Flatliners, a Canadian group that is based in Toronto, will also take the festival’s stage. The group formed in 2002 and since then, they have toured the world heavily with their thought-provoking lyrics, energetic punk rock sound and catchy melodies. You can count on the presence of a noisy crowd during this show, as it promises to be electrifying!

    The Planetrox project continues to grow

    The PLANETROX project is an international competition and its mission is to discover the best up-and-coming groups in each of the participating countries, and to then present them to the Envol and Macadam festival’s audience. The 2013 edition will feature ten guest countries, and musicians from 15 different international cities will be performing on the festival’s stages in Quebec City in September.

    The provincial, national and international PLANETROX auditions are well under way. New rounds of the competition are now being held in Ontario and the Maritimes. The Quebecois finalists will compete against one another during the festival’s opening night on September 5th at Le Cercle. The winner of this final round will play on one of the Îlot Fleurie park’s main stages, alongside the winners from the ten other participating countries.

    From June 15th until July 6th, Envol et Macadam will be holding a special presale on its Facebook page. During this time, festival passes will be available for $36.50 (tax and service fees included), which is the regular price for tickets to just one night of the festival.
