  • Envol et Macadam, regional winner of the 2010 Grands prix du tourisme québécois

    Wednesday March 31st 2010

The Envol et Macadam Festival is proud to have won the 2010 Grand prix du tourisme québécois in the Festivals and Tourist Events category for organizations in the Quebec City area with an operating budget of less than $1 million.

Quebec City Tourism unveiled yesterday the winners of the 2010 Grands Prix du tourisme québécois for the Quebec City area. The awards presentation took place at Espaces Dalhousie before a crowd of over 300 people.

Nearly 25,000 people made their way to Îlot Fleurie in 2009 for three days of shows. The festival won this award by setting itself apart with its specialized musical niche, original location, and emphasis on young Quebec artists.

Envol et Macadam is a major Quebec City event. The organization has been presenting this alternative music festival—the first in Québec—since 1996. The festival is held every year in September in downtown Quebec City under the Dufferin-Montmorency highway overpass. For the past few years, the organization has helped young artists through international cultural development projects in conjunction with Japan, the United Kingdom, and France.

Envol et Macadam would like to thank all the festival-goers, as well as our freelance team and invaluable partners: Bière Tremblay, Heritage Canada, the Quebec government, the City of Quebec, Quebec City Tourism, and all our institutional and media partners, suppliers, associated broadcasters, and restaurateurs.

Join us September 9 to 11 to celebrate our 15th anniversary!
