Wednesday June 7th 2017

Quebec City, Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 –The organizers of the Envol et Macadam festival are pleased to announce that Propagandhi, Streetlight Manifesto, H2O, Guttermouth, Bodh’aktan, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Planet Smashers and many other artists will be playing at the 22nd edition of the festival to be held from September 7th to 9th. Presented in collaboration with Tremblay beer, the event is sure to satisfy festivalgoers with its high-quality lineup, which will put the spotlight on alternative music in the unique urban setting of the Îlot Fleurie Park (beneath the Dufferin-Montmerency highway overpasses), as well as various other Quebec City venues.

A fully charged Friday night

The Îlot Fleurie site will be accessible from 5pm, and Quebec City groups The Hunters and Portland! will kick off the festivities for this evening that promises to crank up the decibels. Then, at 7:30pm, another Quebec City band, Mute, will provide festivalgoers with a melodic and technically proficient dose of punk rock. This solid lineup will continue with New York-based four-piece H2O, who are sure to electrify the crowd with their potent hardcore punk rock. And finally, at 9:30pm, Canadian band Propagandhi will take to the stage. The Manitoba group has been well known to punk rock fans since the ‘90s and has since moved on to a slightly heavier sound. With their fast-paced protest songs, they’ll bring a perfect close to the night.

A Saturday night extravaganza

The concerts will start at 3pm with the Celtic punk of Irish Moutarde, followed by Hitch & Go’s festive pop punk. These two bands from Quebec City will set the tone for the day. The audience will then welcome very special visitors from California, the extremely popular Voodoo Glow Skulls, who will step up the afternoon’s pace with their energetic skacore sound. They will be followed by legendary Montreal band The Planet Smashers, who have been spreading ska both locally and internationally for the past 25 years! At 7:30pm, veteran Californian punk rockers Guttermouth will take to the Îlot Fleurie stage with their fast-paced repertoire tinted with sarcasm and insolence. Quebec group Bodh’aktan will also be on board with a Celtic rock performance sure to get festivalgoers moving. Finally, at 9:30pm, the final evening of the festival will culminate with the melodic, brass-infused, high-octane punk sounds of the American group Streetlight Manifesto.

A rich and varied lineup of indoor concerts

Known in Quebec’s capital as the most popular venues for alternative music, The Scanner, l’Anti Bar & Spectacles, Le Knock-Out and La Source de la Martinière will host a variety of indoor concerts throughout the festival. During opening night on Thursday, and following the concerts on the main stage on Friday and Saturday nights, these venues will be destinations of choice for all music lovers. From Thursday to Saturday night, audiences will be able to see a number of groups, including Scare, Diamond Head, Gerbia, Behind The Revolver, Feels Like Home, Kung Fu Romeo, Hate It Too, Boundaries, Motorleague, Mordicus, WhiteNails, Mudie and A Tree At Last.

The indoor concerts will also give festivalgoers the chance to hear the finalists of the Planetrox auditions, as bands from the ten different participating countries will be showcased at these venues, ensuring that each evening ends with a bang!
