    PLANETROX is a worldwide music competition whose mission is to discover the best new bands and expose them to a wider international audience. In 2012, Envol et Macadam will be expanding its ties to the rest of the world and hitting it with a big bang: alternative bands from 15 different countries will be able to sign up for their PLANETROX auditions and the chance to play at the next Envol et Macadam Festival in Quebec City, Canada.

    PLANETROXは世界規模で行われる音楽の大会であり、その使命は新たなバンドの発掘とインターナショナルな場での演奏を目的としています。2012年、Envol et Macadamはそのつながりを世界へと広げていきます。今年は15の国々から、オルタナティブミュージックのバンドがPLANETROXに参加することができ、カナダのケベックシティで行われるEnvol et Macadamフェスティバルで演奏することができます。 

    The PLANETROX project is an initiative of Envol et Macadam in collaboration with the City of Quebec. The mission of this international undertaking is to discover the best up-and-coming bands in each of the participating countries and to present them to the public at the Envol et Macadam Festival each September. This second year of PLANETROX will involve Canada, the United States, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Norway, Ireland, Italy, Czech Rebublic, Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and South Korea.

    PLANETROXは、ケベック政府と協力して行うEnvol et Macadamの最初のプロジェクトです。世界規模で行われるこのイベントの使命は、各国から参加している将来有望なバンドを発掘し、毎年9月に行われるEnvol et Macadamフェスティバルで演奏させることです。PLANETROX開催初年度の今年は、カナダのほかにアメリカ、フランス、ベルギー、イギリス、ドイツ、ノルウェイ、アイルランド、イタリア、スペイン、日本、中国、マレーシア、インドネシア、そして韓国が参加します。 

    Envol et Macadam is Quebec’s top alternative music festival. It continues to innovate and to develop projects that allow local and international up-and-coming artists the chance to take part in an event that annually attracts over 20,000 music fans, as well as many industry professionals. Its programming appeals to a young and hip crowd; Bad Religion, Mastodon, Sum 41, Pennywise, Karkwa, The Sounds, Metric, Malajube, Raekwon, Bloc Party, Hatebreed, IAM, The Exploited and As I Lay Dying are but a few of the well-known artists that have played and delighted festival goers at Envol et Macadam in past years.

    Envol et Macadamはケベックで行われるオルタナティブミュージックの最高峰イベントです。多くの業界関係者とともに毎年20,000人以上の観客が訪れるこのイベントに、国内外のアーティストたちが参加できるよう、このプロジェクトを常に新しいものへと発展させ続けています。有名なアーティストのほんの一部ですが、Bad Religion, Mastodon, Sum 41, Pennywise, Karkwa, The Sounds, Metric, Malajube, Raekwon, Bloc Party, Hatebreed, IAM, The Exproited, As I Lay Dyingなどが過去のEnvol et Macadamのイベントに参加して演奏してくれています。

    PLANETROXのしくみは？バンド登録をして、自分たちの最高の曲を選びます（オリジナル曲のみ）、曲を選んだら、ビデオを送り、人々が投票します！ 

    Bands may register for PLANETROX online from February 29th to May 11th.

    バンド受付は2月29日から5月11日までです。

  • PLANETROXは４段階の審査です。

    PLANETROX IS A FOUR-STEP PROCESS:

     

    1. Each participating band will register online on planetrox.ca before May 11th, 5pm (EST : Eastern Standard Time), upload an MP3 of one of their original songs – send the subscription fee’s payment (25$USD per band, taxes included) – and a panel of international industry judges will choose the 10 semi-finalists.                                                                                                                                                      

      それぞれの参加バンドは3月11日午後5時(EST : Eastern Standard Time)までにplanetrox.caのサイトで申し込みをします。オリジナル曲のMP3をアップロードして登録費（１バンド25ドル税込）を支払います。そして世界中の審査員が準決勝に進出する10バンドを選びます。 

    2. The 10 semi-finalists will upload a video of their song. An online public voting process will then follow form May 21th to June 4th and 5 finalists will be chosen by the results of this public vote combined 50/50 with the judges’ vote.

      準決勝進出10バンドは自分たちの曲をアップロードします。5月21日から6月4日までのオンライン一般投票と審査員の投票50対50で決勝進出５バンドを選びます。 

    3. The 5 finalists will perform in a live National Finale in their country and an audience vote combined 25/75 with a panel of industry judges vote will decide the winning band.

      決勝進出の5バンドはそれぞれの国で行われる国内決勝で実際に演奏し、観客投票25対審査員の投票75の割合で優勝者を決定します。 ※２０１２年の日本決勝は６月１７日（日）東京初台ＤＯＯＲＳで行われます。決勝会場までの交通費は各自の負担となりますので、ご了承願います。 こめれれこkomekome ni

    4. The winning band from each of the 15 countries will be invited to perform  at one of Canada’s biggest live music events, the Envol et Macadam Festival in Quebec City on September 7th or 8th  2012.

      15か国で選ばれた優勝者は、2012年9月7日と8日に行われる、カナダで最も大きなライブミュージックイベントのひとつであるEnvol et Macadamで演奏することとなります。※航空券支給の上限は8750ドル（約70万円）となります。メンバーが5人以上の場合、不足することがありますのでご注意ください。不足分は自己負担となります。また上限に満たない場合でも差額をお渡しすることはありません。
